1. Traps
Sometimes you can sense the trap, but not the extent of the trap. It's foolish to think that you'll be able to avoid the well-sprung trap, but arrogance always leads us to delude ourselves...

I have a feeling that I'm walking into a trap right now. It's not serious, but it could get sticky... Perhaps it's already sticky and I don't know it yet.

Or maybe sometimes good things that happen are really due to random events and cannot be attributed to somebody working the machine.

That's what we'd all like to believe, isn't it? But there really isn't anything that is truly a co-incidence.
