2009-03-22 : Oh, immuno.
You've got to love immuno. There's this drug called Rapamycin. How does it work? It targets mTOR. What does mTOR stand for? It stands for mammalian target of rapamycin. The entire class of drugs is called mTOR inhibitors.

Seriously, who decides this sort of stuff? It makes sense in a circularly logical sort of way, which is somehow rather warped at the same time.

Then again, mTOR is also known as FK506 binding protein 12-rapamycin associated protein 1 (FRAP1), so I guess I should be grateful.

Oh, immuno.
