2008-04-10 : Internal Narratives.
Some TYS question
1 ) While working as a houseman in the medical ward, you are awoken by the nurse at 2am informing you that a patient has been admitted for ingesting antifreeze. As you hurriedly walk to the patient, you recall that antifreeze contains ethylene glycol which is oxidized to glycoladehyde by alcohol dehydrogenase. This is subsequently metabolized to acidic compounds in the blood.

Hoho, if only my life had a narrative like that.

Then when going for exams it'd be something like:

'while looking at the question on salvage pathways, thoughts come unbidden to your mind. You spontaneously recall the enzyme required for salvage pathways to function, the definition of salvage pathways, as well as the consequences if salvage pathways are nonfunctional. You write at a comfortable speed, just enough to finish writing in the time given, but not enough to cause a wrist ache.'

Sigh. If only, if only.
